Safety is our priority guiding every inclement weather decision. It is our goal to be in school if travel is safe for all.
We appreciate your cooperation during our challenging mountain winters.
We have 8 days built into the school calendar for weather make-up days. If we have more than 8 weather cancellations, we will notify families of the plan for reaching the required 185 school days.
Weather related announcements will be found through the following resources:
2 HOUR DELAY
This means arrival begins at 10:00 a.m. with school beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m. The school day will end at 3:00 p.m. with a normal dismissal.
If we have a 2 hour delay, school will dismiss at 3:00 p.m. instead of the normal 1:00 p.m. dismissal. Please make appropriate arrangements for your child to stay until the end of the school day. Delays allow time for roads to be salted and scraped. Students not at school on delay days will be counted absent.
Every effort is made to make a decision by 6:30 a.m. in order to notify the public. We take the safety of our students, parents, and staff seriously.
In the event that weather becomes an issue after school has begun Two Rivers may make the decision to dismiss early, giving students time to get home before roads are dangerous. Parents are always welcome to pick up their children if the roads in your area make travel hazardous.
Please refrain from calling the school to keep lines open ensuring we can make outgoing calls to families regarding the closing.
Before and After School Care:
In the event of a 2 hour delay, before school care will be available beginning at 9:30 a.m. In the event of early dismissal, there will be no after school care.
Please use your best judgement when weather conditions may impact travel conditions. Conditions may vary widely across the 5 county region. If it is dangerous to travel in the local area where you live, please keep your children at home.
