Student Support System
The multi-tier system of supports (MTSS) is a framework for providing targeted support to struggling students. The goal of MTSS is to intervene early, so students can keep pace with their peers. Based on screening data, teacher referrals or family referrals, the MTSS team may have students participate in a variety of interventions which are designed to support academic growth and achievement, as well as to meet behavior, social, and emotional needs. For more information on MTSS, see NC MTSS for Families.
